On your mark, get set, go!
Hola friends and family!
This week we plunged into the goggles, caps and water world! It was a nice opportunity to learn, get excited and have fun! What an important moment to jump into a new kind of excitement.
Oh yeah, life can be super excited if we search for that! Sometimes we are sitting waiting for something incredible happened, but, honestly if we are seated is not excited, it's not fun at all!
The swimming started a long time ago in the water of Caribbean ocean. Can you imagine yourself swimming in one of the most beautiful ocean on earth? Everyday!?!? What a great beginning! And since that time we kept the water world in our life, even without the Caribbean! In the way we had cute pool, nice pool, great pool and our last,... pool with bugs remember when I told that we had to swim with bugs and finish the line?
So, that's what happened! The kids had a swimming competition last Friday and they finished the line!!!!
It was so great! They were excited and nervous and happy! They wanted a medal, at least one. Before the competition we talked about how important is do our best even if we can't reach the first 3 places, how important is to be focus, and once again do our best. Doesn't matter if we don't earn a medal, because to be a winner is to be brave and has courage to confront all the great competitors and also accept when we loose. The winner is someone who worked hard with responsibility, even in the snowing days, or worse, even in the summer time when we are free to do whatever we want!
So, last Friday was a water day, it rained the whole afternoon, it was a cold competition, with a lot of people, a lot of music (funny)and a lot of waiting!!!!!!
The first one to swim was Oliver in the backstroke 25m for 8yrs old boys and then Victoria backstroke 25m for 10 yrs old girls, and again Oliver in the 25m freestyle and Victoria 25m freestyle. They canceled the breaststroke because of the rain. The pool was outdoor!
They are best in long distance rally not in short one. But, anyway they tried their best and they won medals! Oliver was gold in freestyle and backstroke for boys. Victoria was silver in freestyle and backstroke for girls! They were very happy, and now they understood how important was going in all practice even when they were tired, in the cold winters in Tulsa, in the hot summer days too!
So, life is like that, on your mark, get set and go! Yeah! Everyday we need to be on our marks, be ready and go, go and go, always, non stop! Each day is a practice day plus a competition day, we can't just sit around and wait, life goes fast and so the opportunities, in this Gold and Silver Friday we learned again that responsibility, efforts, courage, faith are ingredients to live a full life, but we can't have all that by our own efforts, no, we need God guiding us, showing us how to do things in the right way, because when we have Him, we are a winner, no matter what! In this competitive world we need to have God in our lives all the time, because is the only way to finish the line even with bugs!
Miss all of you, saudades!
