The land of bugs and free gas!

Image
Hello dear friends & family, Here we are in the mysterious Maturin, living new things each day, waiting, and searching, and waiting one more time! Here, the land of nonsense theories, the land of free gas! This week we had peaceful days,we found what we needed and the best we found the way! We had our regular swimming and tennis lessons, also the kids were invited to swim in a new club " Palma Real" where the State coach wanted to meet them. We went there, and I was impressed! Maturin has a another club! Wow this is big! The club is nice and colorful the kids swan for 2 hours with their coach, and honestly I enjoyed the moment, I enjoyed to try a new thing! The swimming pool is not like the swimming pool we had in Tulsa, but " we get what we get and don't get upset"! That's our new quote!LOL! By the way,.... the State coach didn't showed up! Anyway, this week we dedicated to clean our new house and in the way of cleaning we found several...

Newsletter from Venezuela 1

Hi Dear friends, We arrived in Venezuela on Tuesday morning without any trouble! Our flight to Maturin was on time, people say that this flight is never on time! So far we already had been blessed! The city is not nice, is not organized, is not clean, it's not safe. It's the opposite of America! I miss America! LOL! People are not friendly, sometimes they scared me with their look! We found a nice house close to the club, close to Vitor's work, he can walk to his work, also close to school. The kids are excited about knowing the school. We found the house we wanted! We are very thankful! The grocery store is not nice! There are limited items, we can't find everything we want, everything is very expensive too. Yesterday a friend gave me sugar because I couldn't find sugar at the grocery store!!!!!!!!! Also we didn't found eggs and oil and brown rice!! I remember about Ellen White ( a wonderful writer), about eat less, eat simple, eat natura...

Newsletter from Venezuela 2 - focus

Hello Dear friends, Thank you so much for letting me share my experiences with you. I like when I sit and write about my week. This really helps me be focus! We are in our second week and 4th day in Venezuela!!!! For me looks like a month or more!!!!! LOL!!!!! This week we continued trying and trying adapted ourselves in our new challenge. Today I was thinking about the other places we lived and I realized that Maturin is the one which we will need much more strength and patience. Right now for me being here it's like a huge stair that we need to climb and the top right now looks unreachable, not because we lost faith but because is a huge stair with huge steps to take, so we need a lot of patience and strength. This morning we found our church. I was so happy to go to church with my family, but when we got there I didn't feel I was at home yet. Church has this special power that makes you feel at home. But so far, I thought I was in another planet. They tried re...

Newsletter from Venezuela 3 - sugar and spice

Hi dear friends and family! What a week! So many things to learn, so much patience required, more than that, we need smart eyes, very opened eyes to look and find and try to be happy even when we do not find what you were expecting! This week we had good news, good laughs, and in the end of the week a back to back up and downs! That's human nature, sometimes we are happy, sometimes sad, all the time trying to find a way to somewhere or to anywhere, just hanging there, hanging here! So, are you ready to live in a few minutes what we lived this week? Here we go! Me and the kids went to the grocery store last Tuesday, like always we asked for a cab with seat belts!!! When the taxi arrived we were trying to find the seat belts and then I told to the driver:" I asked for a cab with seat belts"! He answered:" I thought I had it but no, I don't have anymore!" and then I said, " sorry but we can't go, we have to wear seat belts", he said:...
