Giraffes and Roses

Hello dear friends!

I have a wonderful friend who likes giraffes and roses and who inspired me to write today's post!

For her and for you, today I'll write about funny things that happen in life, well, at the first sight doesn't look like fun but in the end we can laugh about!

Maybe this happaned to you, maybe not, but there is a  probability that one day you can face this situation.... I'm talking about Venezuelan airports!!!! Yes, you had planned your perfect vacation trip to that fantastic location, but before you get there you have to cross the first obstacle called airport and I want to make myself clear.... I'm in Venezuela so.... you got what kind of aiport I'm talking about, right?

First you try to make a reservation on line.... most of time this is impossible, so you go to the airport and try to buy tickets directly from the ariline, you wait in line for your turn, when finally it's your turn, you tell your destination and  if you have minors traveling with you  have a discount (this is the good part), but if your kid is 12 you have to prove your kid is in school!!! HAHAHAHAHA. At this point your mood begins to change and you say of course my kid is in school...duh!!!! Well, you have to prove with an official paper from school or with a school ID. Al right, you take a deep breath and go back home and call school asking for those papers.... the school prepares the official paper and make an ID for your kid. You go back to the airport wait in line and them it's your turn, you give all the papers for that discount and then you heard something like this: "wait in here I need to talk to my boss if this paper is ok", after several minutes he comes back with a "NO", the paper is not right! So, at this point your mood changes again! You ask to talk to his boss. He shows where to go, but also says that is now lunch time even if the boss accepts the papers he can't sell the tickets!!!!!!!!!! WOW I want to scream!!!!! I can't believe!!!!!!! So, you take a deep breath, make a saint face and ask with a sweet voice please wait for me! And he says Ok! WOW this is a miracle! We meet the boss, listen to his nonsense and try to solve the problem, call the school, show him the numbers he was looking for, waiting for him call another boss, and then you begin to think how incompetent all of them are and how in this world you walk to this situation????? Anyway,.... back to buying the ticket the guy is not there....remember he told me he will wait? So, like always I never give up, I start to look around and them I found him and them I called him out and he came!!!!!!!!! This is a miracle!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!! What a nigthmare for a discount!!!!! Isn't this fun? I think it is fun and crazy!!!!

Ok, let's move to the part you are coming back from your fantastic vacation and you are welcomed in the airport with bathrooms without water HAHAHAHA, outdoors saying nonsense about politics with pictures of people smiling, and you think why they are smiling about? HAHAHAHA! And then you notice that your flight is just a little late.... like 2 hours HAHAHAHA! As a friend says:"when you arrive in Caracas all the enchantment is gone" HAHAHAHAHA That's so true! Ok, you wait and wait and finally after hours of waiting your flight arrives and you thank God your flight is here!

Arriving at home, you are so happy that finally you are far away from that airport and promisse to yourself that you will avoid traveling. In the next morning you go shopping for groceries with a huge list. You start shopping and them you look at your list the first item must be milk and found no milk, look for table cream, found none, look to your list again and says cheese, and found no cheese, after the 3 first items you realized that you don't need a list! So, you promisse to yourself,... next holiday I'm out of here HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

The fun part is when you arrive for the first time in the Country. WOW this is huge! Since you made your research about the country before arrinving the first thing you do leaving the airport is a pit stop at any supermarket to buy MILK of course! HAHAHAHAHA! And them when you arrrived at the hotel you received welcome basket from your new friends with chocolate, cookies, etc... and them you think that instead of those items could be milk, cheese, sugar.... HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Life is fun!

After a while all these and much more that happen here, are history, are learning, are opportunities to grow in patience and strength, at the beginning all things look dark and unfair, but in the end you realize all of these are part of life. Experiences are priceless, living all of these are the best part of being in here. We have so much to talk, so much learned, so much to be thankful for!

Yes, life in here is full..... full of nonsense things, but is fun too. I found my way to walk and laugh. I'm thankful for the simplest things that we can find here no matter what. I know God is with us, helping us live everyday and opening our hearts and eyes to see what really matters in life. The rest are details. Details that are impossible to change our happiness and thankfulness.
