THE ID DAY!
What a day! Wow!
Well, June was another surprise in planet Venezuela! I thought I was prepared for the ID day but in the end I realized that I need more practice to improve my deep breath concentration!
You will understand what I'm talking about after read this..........
This is my story of the ID day, here it goes....
All foreign people must have a Venezuelan ID, but the process to get one is horrible, so that's the problem.I and the kids went to the ID department!!!!!! We arrived at lunch time, we wait 10 minutes in line and we started the process, pictures, digital finger prints, questions, and then the man who was helping us didn't know what to do with us,... so he left his table twice and went searching for answers, when he came back he finished the process, and said that we should go to table number 9. We went to table 9 and the lady told that he did almost everything wrong, so we went back to his table..... after we finished with him the table 9 lady wrote my name wrongly and I told her that was wrong, that I'm not DE Moura, I'm Moura and she answered that's the way, so whatever, a couple minutes later she told us to go to table 1 to do our finger prints AGAIN! So, we went to table and we waited in line (again), when it was our turn the lady says: "You have to go to another table, it's not here"!!!!!!!!! So, we went to another place, they asked about the papers to do our finger print (yes, we have to make copies because they don't give the exact number of copies we need!), I showed than 9, yes 9 copies for the finger prints! And then they said: it's not here, you must have another kind of paper!!!!!!! GO to table 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it? That time my limit was over! I said: "nadie sabe nada!" "nobody knows nothing"!!!!!!!!! She said: "I don't work for foreign"!!! I said : Sorry but I was here for more than 1 hour!!!!!!!!!! And we went back to table 1, the lady wasn't there, we came back again and the guy did our finger prints, 3 times each hand, all fingers!!!!!!!!!! And then he got the other paper, but just 2 copies!!!!!!!!! He asked for more and we did it again, 3 times thumb and index finger both hands!!!!!!!!! Total of 6 papers each person!!!!!!!!! Well, after finishing that he said:"GO BACK TO TABLE 1" Its funny now', right? But in that moment I was speechless!!!!!!!!!! We went back to table 1, the lady wasn't there, so he said to go upstairs! When we went upstairs the secretary was talking at the phone and we waited and she didn't ask us what we needed , so I asked a guy who was coming from downstairs where we should go and finally after 2 hours and 22 minutes we finished the ID process!!!!!!!! WOW! Can you believe 2hours and 22 minutes!????
All the time, all of the employees who helped us were talking at the phone or talking to another person at the same time doing our papers! They didn't know for sure what to do, their work was careless, a lot of people waiting and they allowed people cut in line, I saw 5 workers sitting doing nothing with their bags in their laps ready to go home, just waiting for the clock sound 3pm and eating ice cream!!!!!!!
Maybe you agree with me,.... this process is so last century, maybe is so prehistoric!!!!!! Do we really need 6 papers to do finger prints? How about the environment? Do we really need all kind of papers of this and that to show who we are? That's why we have passports!, right?! Do we really need table 1 to 9 to do small little tasks which they have the ability to transform in huge and horrible to do lists for us? Do they really need to eat ice cream and enjoy their useless moment when lots of people are tired of waiting in line? No, I believe not. Human beings have the duty to transform society, manners, create a better world, think about common good, help, improve, raise amazing people, we have the duty to do great things! Well, today I was tired but most of all I was disappointed with the human being, it's so sad to see people who are careless and disrespectful.
Yes, the ID day wasn't easy, but we finished the process, thank God! I asked God before we left home to be with us and help us because I knew that would be hard! Like always, He helped us, and like always we had a new adventure and we reinforce an old concept! Honesty and respect is a must. The lack of these 2 ingredients is a mess in all areas.
After 2 hours and 22 minutes, I realized that the hardest part wasn't listen GO TO TABLE 1several times, but to watch the lack of honesty and respect for human beings!
Hope one day the humanity understand the meaning of life - LOVE!
With all my love,
